Feeding your dog

Key Tips

✅ Feed a balanced diet with quality proteins, grains, and veggies
✅ Raw bones are safe (never cooked bones)
✅ Avoid toxic foods
✅ Fresh, natural meals are always best
A healthy diet is key to your dog’s long, happy life. Dogs need:

-
~55% protein for healthy muscles and tissues (beef, lamb, chicken, turkey, fish, eggs)
-
Carbohydrates & grains like brown rice, barley, or oats for energy
-
Vegetables such as broccoli, peas, beans, carrots, and pumpkin for antioxidants that boost immunity

Some owners prefer a raw meat and bone diet, which is safe when uncooked and closer to what dogs would eat in the wild. Always consult your vet before changing your dog’s diet.

What NOT to Feed Your Dog
Certain foods are toxic or dangerous to dogs:
-
Onions – Can cause anaemia
-
Chocolate – Especially dark chocolate, can lead to seizures or heart failure
-
Macadamia nuts – Cause weakness and coordination issues
-
Grapes & raisins – Can trigger kidney failure
-
Fatty foods – Risk of obesity & pancreatitis
-
Foreign objects like corn cobs, skewers, or cooking string – can cause blockages requiring surgery
